Just like the box soup only makes 3 quarts of soup.
So similar to the Tortilla Soup but in this Stew we used brown beans in place of the black beans and we added potato flakes to the mix so that it thicken up a bit and become more like a stew. It has the same great taste, but the rich taste of the brown beans are present in this hearty south of the border taste. We like it with chicken or hamburger.

Variations: Add some chicken, add some cheese, add a can of stewed tomatoes. You can saute' the chicken, or throw the bird right into the water and let it boil (like old fashioned chicken soup!)
